Mr. and Mrs. Charles Michael Costello of Bastrop, La., announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Shannon Costello, to Thomas McIlwain Wright Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McIlwain Wright of Brandon.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Narvin Hersey Sawyer Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henry Costello, all of Oak Grove, La. She is also the granddaughter of the late Arthur Rood McCleary of Natchitoches, La. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Knox Strahan Jr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Wright, all of Jackson.
